Supreme Court’s Air Pollution Ruling Goes Against TexasImage As much as I agree with reducing air pollution, I do have to wonder that when the coal fired power plants are shut down because it is too expensive to implement the necessary changes to comply with the new regulations, how the deficit in power supply is going to be filled. There have been no new power plants built for years and it will take years to build new ones starting now. And that doesn’t include all the public enquiries etc that will have to take place to solve the “not in my back yard” issues. http://www.texastribune.org/2014/04/29/texas-loses-fight-against-epa-air-pollution-rule/ Just saying.

Linking to explosions from years ago, Gerry Adams, known IRA member and leader, has been arrested for the 1972 murder of a mother-of-10. She was kidnapped from in front of her children, executed and secretly buried on a hunch that she was an informer which was later proven false. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-27232731

This last one is sad in that a whale had to die but it is funny in a sick way. Think cartoon. “Dead blue whale ‘might explode’ in Newfoundland town”Imagehttp://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-27210992

April ends. Couple of fun facts:

1900 – Casey Jones dies in a train wreck in Vaughn, Mississippi, while trying to make up time on the Cannonball Express. (I used to watch a programme on TV when I was a child. It was called “Casey Jones and the Cannonball Express”. I never knew he was a real character and that the train really existed. Until now.

1904 – Ice cream cone makes its debut – and the world has never been the same since. How many young children have cried as they watched their scoop of ice cream tumble out and on to the ground?

And to finish off a rainy day, … fog. Be safe out there.
