Quiet drive to the boat this morning. Snow amounts decreased as we travelled north and by the time we got to Sandusky, there was virtually no snow at all. It was pretty cold though. The lake isn’t frozen yet which was rather surprising. I’m sure it won’t be long. And we got home just as the sun was disappearing over the horizon. Normally it is pitch black on our return but we finished our boat work early.

Newcastle United beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford. First win there since 1972. Go Magpies. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25164173

“RF Safe-Stop shuts down car engines with radio pulse” http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25197786  When I read the headline, my first thought was that the device would be fitted in the car and stop the car’s engine and apply the brakes in anticipation of a crash. However, the company developing the device has said that the military and the police have shown an interest. If it becomes commercially available, or even if the test devices got into the wrong hands, can you imagine the havoc that unscrupulous people could create. My thought on this was a multi-vehicle pile up on an expressway. (i’m thinking Matrix.)

72nd anniversary of when the US got involved in World War II; the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour.

Was awake way too early this morning so am going to bed. Not sure if we are skiing tomorrow.          Joanna
